Margot is a real estate and projects partner based in Sydney.

She has particular expertise in large scale urban renewal property and infrastructure projects.  Margot works primarily with developers across all property project interfaces to identify and manage potential gap risks: whether that interface is with a co-investor, government body, financier, builder or tenant.

Margot has a multi-disciplinary background, having commenced practice in energy and resources projects in Western Australia before moving to the UK and Europe where she worked on private equity transactions and real estate projects for developers and pension funds.  On returning to Australia, Margot worked extensively for Lendlease on Barangaroo South and other projects before moving in-house as project lawyer for Walker Corporation on the Parramatta Square project.  This multi-disciplinary background gives Margot a unique skill set to think laterally about issues, assess the importance of those issues and present practical solutions to clients.

Margot is experienced in negotiating and drafting across multiple layers of complex project documentation including project development agreements, joint venture agreements, shareholder and co-investment agreements, exclusivity agreements, contracts for sale of land, agreements for leases and leases and ancillary documents such as building management statements, consultancy agreements, side deeds, access and construction licences, easements and positive and restrictive covenants.
